The team had a big turn out at the New Forest XC race last weekend in Avon Tyrrell with two great podium finishes!

While the roadies have put their racing bikes away and are back on their turbos, the winter season is starting again for the off road team members .... bring on the mud! Julia Hamlyn, Andy Whiteford, Andrew Smith, Ross Williams and Simon Lesser were in the race held at Avon Tyrrell. The course is a challenging 3 mile loop with some technical climbs and descents, all within the grounds of the Avon Tyrrell activity centre. With some pretty awful weather over the weekend it made for a messy affair and unfortunately a puncture for Andy Whiteford in his first off road race. But all was not lost with Julia Hamlyn, Ross Williams and Andrew Smith all taking second in their categories with their strong podium finishes.

Also out racing was Alan Coliville, who paired up with his brother to race the epic Tide to Tide. Tide to Tide is a unique off road event in the Pembrey Country that includes sections of Cefn Sidan Beach. Alan and his brother put in a great ride to finish in a time of 5hrs 53mins to claim 5th male pair and 13th overall in a strong field. Well done both, epic event!

All these great results are not possible without the fantastic support we get from our sponsors, including Ford Civil Engineering, Vitec Ceilings and Partitions Ltd, Manuel Builders, Gibbs and Dandy Bournemouth, Hill & Son Ford Service, Mark Hooper Tree Care IW Price & Partners, in8 Creative Design and E3Coaching. And of course our title sponsor Bournemouth Cycleworks, who provide many our riders top quality Trek speed machines and Bontrager equipment across all disciplines to race on.
