Jamie on the start line
A misty but glorious morning on Sunday at the Thurxton Motor Circuit saw Jamie Whitcher and Naomi Shinkins have a go at the closed circuit national TT championships. Jamie was off early in cool temperatures and mist on the circuit in the juvenile/junior category, with female categories soon after. Riders went off at 30 second intervals to do 5 laps (11.7 miles total) of the closed circuit which finished with an incline at the end of each lap. Fastest time of the day was 22.03, posted by the unbeatable Marcin Bialoblocki.
Jamie completed the course in 25.28 to come home as fastest juvenile, fastest 14 year old and an impressive 5th junior overall. Chapeau Jamie, a very bright cycling future ahead! Getting back into training after an off season break, Naomi finished as 15th senior female and 27th female overall.
