It's been a busy two weeks for the team with strong results off road and time trialling at the Gorrick Skidaddle XC Spring Classic, Off Camber XC, Sotonia 16.5 mile sporting TT and the Hardriders 24 mile sporting TT.

Off Road

The team were out in force at the Gorrick Skidaddle XC Spring Classic a couple of weeks with strong performances from Richard Irvine, Roland Tilley, Stuart King and Barry White. All riders performed well in the early season hit out on the fast flowing course with the following results:

Stuart King - 4th Vet+; Richard Irvine - 4th Super Vet; Roland Tilley - 6th Grand Vet; Barry White - 12th Grand Vet.

And this weekend saw another big turn out for our off road riders at the Off Camber XC event, with UK-Biking Race Team represented in several categories. Team riders competing were Sam Humphrey, Dani Humphrey, Julia Hamlyn, Ross Smith, Barry White, Andrew Smith, Simon Lesser, Richard Irvine, Ash James, Kate Bowers and Stuart King. It was another glorious spring day, which made for very enjoyable racing and a few podiums and other strong results for the team. Big kudos to our tandem riders, Kate Bowers and her husband Stuart Bowers and Stuart King and his partner Jo Keating, not only for dominating the podium but for taking on the course on a tandem! Full results were:

Kate Bowers/Stuart Bowers - 1st Tandem; Stuart King/Jo Keating - 2nd Tandem; Sam Humphrey - 2nd Male; Julia Hamlyn - 3rd Female; Barry White - 4th Male Vet; Dani Humphrey - 5th Female; Ross Smith - 5th Male; Andrew Smith - 7th Male; Richard Irvine - 7th Vet; Simon Lesser - 12th Male; Ash James - 13th Male.

Tony Revell was also out racing at the weekend at the Mud Sweat and Gear Eastern XC Series at Hadleigh Park. Tony had a strong start leading out and holding 2nd for the first few laps but a couple of mistakes saw him tangled up with a lapped rider and ending in 5th place to finish. Still a good session for Tony as he builds to the upcoming National Series.

Time Trial

The last few weeks have seen the start of the time trial season with Jamie Whitcher, Naomi Shinkins and Phil Cole taking on some of the sporting TTs in the area. Jamie Whitcher was at the Sotonia 16.5 mile hilly TT on his road bike and finished 10th of 67 riders, great riding for the 14 year old in his longest TT to date. Naomi and Phil were at the Hardriders 24 in Andover, with Phil competing in the road bike category finishing as 8th male and Naomi in the TT bike category as 4th female. Despite the near perfect sunny conditions both found the course tough going but it's another session banked towards bigger goals!

All these great results are not possible without the fantastic support we get from our sponsors, including Ford Civil Engineering, Vitec Ceilings and Partitions Ltd, Manuel Builders, Gibbs and Dandy Bournemouth, Hill & Son Ford Service, IW Price & Partners and in8 Creative Design. And of course our title sponsor Bournemouth Cycleworks, who provide many our riders top quality Trek speed machines and Bontrager equipment across all disciplines to race on.
