This weekend the big event was the Brighton Big Dog off road lap race and team riders didn't disappoint with wins in the male and female pairs, male grand vet podium and a female solo podium.

A lot of our riders love a good off road race and nothing beats a timed lap race like the Big Dog in Brighton. The weather was pretty grim but the event went ahead and we had a big representation on the day. This year Tony Revell and Sam Humphrey were hungry for the win after a snapped chain cost them the pairs win last year. In Tony's own words:

"Well once again the Big Dog did not disappoint and put on an epic show. This year my god old friend Sam Humphrey and I were back racing as a pair and ready to put last year's chain snap demons to bed! As it is run in a relay format we had decided to send me off for the first hot lap that put us in the lead but we knew it was not going to be a walk in the park with some hot competition on our tail but we kept the hammer down, both smashing out strong consistent times lap after lap .... 6hours, 72 miles, 11 laps and tired legs later the victory was ours! We had been kept honest all the way by Paddy and Dan Howe but it was us who would be getting our names on the legendary piston cup trophy along with some top swag. Big thanks to all involved for putting together this awesome event no matter the weather! Also massive well done to the rest of the team who smashed it and were climbing on podiums throughout the categories!"

And those other podiums were a win for Julia Hamlyn and Kate Bowers in the female pairs, 3rd for Roland Tilley and his partner in the grand vet pairs and 3rd for Dani Humphrey in the female solo category. Great results for the team really showing their dominance in off-road racing!

In other recent races Stephen Corbyn was 10th in the Midlands XC  week after a big crash, Roland Tilley was 7th in the vets Criterium Championship in Odd Down and Bob Ford was 11th in the same race.

All these great results are not possible without the fantastic support we get from our sponsors, Manuel Builders, Gibbs and Dandy Bournemouth, Hill & Son Ford Service, IW Price & Partners, AJN Electrical and in8 Creative Design. And of course our title sponsors Ford Civil Engineering, Vitec Ceilings and Partitions Ltd and Bournemouth Cycleworks, who provide many our riders top quality Trek speed machines and Bontrager equipment across all disciplines to race on.
