The off-road season is now in full swing and our riders are starting the new season the same way they finished last season ... on the podium! (cover photo - Kevin Sheldrake)

Off Road

Since our last website post we've had riders compete in the Off-Camber XC event and the Gorrick Brass Monkeys. It was top step of the podium (and overall) for the team in the male and female events with our elite riders Tony Revell and Amy-Jo Hansford up there. Tony completed 8 laps in a cracking time and Amy-Jo 6 laps, which would have given her a place in with the top 10 males! Ross Smith also had a great race to round out the male podium finishing 3rd with 7 laps.

Our Off Camber riders also competed at the Gorrick Brass Monkeys at the weekend, along with Julia Hamlyn, Roland Tilley, Stuart King and Richard Irvine all in flying form with the results below. Tony had an interesting day on his fat bike, leading early on, until a pesky chain that kept snapping eventually pushed him off the podium despite his grit and determination to fight back each time!

Amy-Jo Hansford - 1st female, 2hr race

Julia Hamlyn - 1st female, 4hr race

Roland Tilley - 2nd Vet, 3hr race

Tony Revell - 4th male, 3hr race

Stuart King - 5th Vet, 4hr race

Ross Smith - 8th vet, 4hr race

Richard Irvine - 20th vet, 3hr race

Track

Aside from out off-road riders, James Meakin was competed in the very competitive British University Championship (BUCs) track event. James had a great event with 12th in the men's sprint race and 8th in the elimination race. Great racing in a very competitive national field!

All these great results are not possible without the fantastic support we get from our sponsors, Manuel Builders, Gibbs and Dandy Bournemouth, Hill & Son Ford Service, IW Price & Partners, AJN Electrical and in8 Creative Design. And of course our title sponsors Ford Civil Engineering, Vitec Ceilings and Partitions Ltd and Bournemouth Cycleworks, who provide many our riders top quality Trek speed machines and Bontrager equipment across all disciplines to race on.
